Employment & Labor Law - Employment law covers a complex network of laws that governs how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. We have significant experience in interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as illegal discrimination (including age, gender, race sexual orientation, disability and national origin), affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, whistleblower litigation, wrongful discharge, senior management dismissal, severance package negotiation and employment contracts. We regularly pursue claims under the following statutes: the Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA"), the state and Federal Family Leave Acts ("FMLA" and "NJFLA"), the Conscientious Employee Protection Act ("CEPA"), the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination ("NJLAD"), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Older Worker Benefit Protection Act ("ADEA" and "OWBPA") and the Prevailing Wage Act ("PWA").
Church/Canon Law - Our firm has experience and expertise representing priests accused of sexual improprieties and other violations of church canons. We have experience interpreting church canons and ecclesiastical laws, and we understand the processes and rules of the church courts and tribunals.
Civil Rights - Our firm practices in the area of civil rights, which involves fundamental issues of human rights and freedoms. We represent clients who believe they have been the victims of official misconduct, sexual harassment, and discrimination - age, disability, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, race, and religion - in employment, public accommodation, education, housing, or voting under federal or state law.
